This is huge! 100,000 points Apocalypse army, of which the guy who was filming had 10,000 in nids. More than I can say for my eldar. We used to play such humongous games in fantasy (though actually they were more like 50,000pts) – used to take us a couple of weekends to finish up!
This is huge! 100,000 points Apocalypse army, of which the guy who was filming had 10,000 in nids. More than I can say for my eldar. We used to play such humongous games in fantasy (though actually they were more like 50,000pts) – used to take us a couple of weekends to finish up! That said, group games aren’t my thing. I prefer a good old 2 player game.

One part of the video I really like is the mass of the Imperial tanks shown on 1:30 ish mark. It’s quite an impressive motor pool The scenery is also very nice, though mostly straight out of GW with a base and drybrush.

Here’s another huge apocalypse battle, though this time at *just* 50,000 points instead. It’s quite nicely made (with better music perhaps). There seems to be a mass of unpainted minis (fine) and proxies (fine but not so eye catching).

What is really interesting (apart from the obviously enormous patience and determination) is how he uses really simple color schemes for his 40k miniatures, and still achieving great results. The point seems to be that a simple color scheme for 40k miniatures does not preclude good detail and painting quality. Rather, a simple painting scheme enhances the army’s feel, giving the various 40k models a sense of cohesion.

I wonder how many points he potentially has there…
