This is huge! 100,000 points Apocalypse army, of which the guy who was filming had 10,000 in nids. More than I can say for my eldar.
This is huge! 100,000 points Apocalypse army, of which the guy who was filming had 10,000 in nids. More than I can say for my eldar. We used to play such humongous games in fantasy (though actually they were more like 50,000pts) – used to take us a couple of weekends to finish up! That said, group games aren’t my thing. I prefer a good old 2 player game.

One part of the video I really like is the mass of the Imperial tanks shown on 1:30 ish mark. It’s quite an impressive motor pool The scenery is also very nice, though mostly straight out of GW with a base and drybrush.

Here’s another huge apocalypse battle, though this time at *just* 50,000 points instead. It’s quite nicely made (with better music perhaps). There seems to be a mass of unpainted minis (fine) and proxies (fine but not so eye catching).

I for one love reading 40k miniature battle reports of others. They are fun to read, you get some new tactic and army ideas from them, and the little maps are great. Many forums today have a battle report section. A really good piece of software I came across today helps you create those really good looking battle report turn maps.
It’s called Battle Chronicler. If you play 40k or any other tabletop wargame, you will probably also enjoy creating battle reports with this nifty program. According to its website, Battle Chronicler is:

easy to use

allows you to define all the parameters in the game: units, terrain, etc

allows you to record the game turn by turn

you can record every model (really good since when playing 40k every miniature counts)

accurate measurements – very important

easily exported to the web

Most importantly – it’s free! Pretty cool. You also have the option to subscribe to their newsletter, but as I said, it’s an option.

The link to Battle Chronicler’s main site is http://battlechronicler.com/

Note: I am not in any way affiliated to Battle Chronicler, nor will I make nay money if you download it. This is not a paid review/article. I just liked the program!
